The Kenai Peninsula Borough School District is committed to connecting our students with a wide variety of post-secondary opportunities, therefore we have partnered with the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admissions Counseling (PNACAC) to provide the 2016 and 2017 college fairs. PNACAC serves the states of Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington, and now Alaska! Known for providing resources to guide and empower students as they prepare for college admission, PNACA has over 100 college members, which makes this a valuable partnership for the students of KPBSD.
KPBSD is hopeful that the PNACAC membership will increase the number of colleges in attendance at our fair, thus providing more opportunities and connections for our students. PNACAC is host to multiple college fairs every year across the Northwest and we’re excited that the Kenai Fair will be their first in the state of Alaska. The fair will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the gymnasium at Soldotna High School and is free for students and parents/guardians to attend. Students will simply need to register with their school counselor prior to attending the fair.
For student convenience, PNACAC also offers barcode scanning capabilities provided by gotocollegefairs.com. After entering their information on the website, students can print a barcode that can be scanned by the college representatives of their choice, putting an end to filling out information cards for each individual college. The barcode scanning is optional, and students wanting to take part in the barcode scanning options will need to take time and create an account prior to the fair, and either print or have the barcode available on their smart phone for scanning during the fair. Barcode registration is completed online at www.gotocollegefairs.com.
For more information, please contact your School Counselor or Tiffany Eck, the College Fair Coordinator, at 714-8884. We look forward to seeing our Junior and Senior students at the fair!
